I quietly slipped the game into early access about a week or so ago - no fanfare just wanted some early feedback on the basics. Which I got - thank you to those who got in touch.
Since then I’ve maintained a pretty steady release cadence - I went live with v0.16.0 and I’ve just pushed out v0.19.0. I create a release note each time and you can find them here . I’ve made some significant upgrades including:
- Map views for ownership and resource yields
- Gamepad support
- Big improvement to the movement system
- Added the ability for the AI to utilise aircraft
- Added a new unit - the aircraft carrier
- Improved the tech tree view
Alongside that I’ve continued to tune the AI and implement fixes for any issues that arise. I’ve still got a number of improvements in mind for the AI to tighten how harder difficulties in particular respond to certain common situations.
Screenshot below is of me losing a game. I’m just about hanging in their against the Aztecs but might come to regret my attack as they’ve just rolled out their first tank meanwhile I’m still fielding horses and archers. Gulp.
